Volcano hike

Walk-On offers a privately guided hiking tour to the volcano.

Hike safely to an active volcano

The Fagradalsfjall volcano erupted on August 3rd 2022 after a series of earthquakes. There has been a steady flow of lava coming from the ground and Walk-On offers a privately guided hiking tour to the volcano.

The hike

A private vehicle and a local guide will pick you up and drive along the lava fields of the Reykjanes peninsula. After about 50 min drive we will start our hike to the volcano. The hike it self is challenging and takes about 2-3 hours, depending on the guests fitness level and experience.

At the site of the eruption we will have Icelandic hiking lunch, flatbread with smoked lamb, dry cod with butter and dark chocolate. We spend approximately an hour at the site to take in the experience and get some great pictures.

We hike back to the car and you will be dropped off at the same place as you were picked up.
